Göbeklitepe Visitor Centre — Şanlıurfa

At the visitor centre of the Göbeklitepe archaeological site in Şanlıurfa, the display units were designed and manufactured by Manifesto in partnership with Doğuş Perakende. The scope was the units that make up the exhibition, not the centre as a whole.

In a building serving one of the oldest known temple sites in the world, it was essential that the display design should not step in front of the site itself. The reception and information desk, the vitrine display tables, the touchscreen units and the replica display cases were resolved with a restrained material palette.

Working on cultural buildings calls at once for durability that can meet heavy visitor traffic and for a simplicity that respects the context. The units were manufactured with both requirements in view.
